 If we cancel the scheduled trip due to unsafe weather conditions (wind, waves, lightning), We will attempt to reschedule the trip at no additional cost to the customer or provide an alternative adventurous experience. 

We DO run trips in rain, fog, wind and wave conditions that we consider manageable.

If you need to cancel, please call us ASAP at (262)-225-9403 and we will try to rebook your adventure.

• We charge a $20 rebooking fee per person and refund any remining balance to you.

• For seats we cannot re-book. We will apply 50% of your total trip price as a GIFT CERTIFICATE that is valid for three years for a future kayak trip with Midwest Kayak Tours. 

 A Touring kayak is designed to be the most efficient kayak for covering long distances on the open waters.

Touring kayaks have a long & slender shape, with a sit inside cockpit. “V-shaped” hull with lots of surface area helping them achieve higher top speeds while hardly breaching below the water's surface.

The most important feature of Touring kayaks are the large, sealed bulkhead compartments located at either end of the kayak. Bulkheads provide a place to store ample gear for multi-day paddles. Additionally, the bulkheads act as a safety feature keeping the kayak from taking on enough water to sink.

AVOID COTTEN, because it absorbs water and stays wet.  Nylon, polyester, or other synthetic fabrics have moisture-wicking and quick-drying properties. Wool dries less quickly but insulates when wet, so is also a fine choice. 

SUN PROTECTION. Especially if you are sensitive to the sun or plan to be outdoors for long periods of time it's wise to protect yourself from harmful UV radiation, regardless of cloud cover. 

HOW TO DRESS HEAD-TO-TOE:

-Hat, Sunglasses (Croakes/ Glasses strap), synthetic fabric top, bottoms & undergarments, active wear shoes that can easily be removed & stored during the paddle. 

 ACCEPTABLE ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

- Water proof camera/ Phone pouch

- Drinking H20

-Small Personal Drybags

-Sunscreen & Bug spray

NOT ACCEPTABLE ADDITIONAL ITEMS: 

-Large beverage coolers 

- Intoxicants

- Electronic vape devices

-Speakers

-Battery packs (unless on multi day trip & stored under proper conditions) 

-Personal Kayaks
